My greatest passion in life is getting new instructors hooked on our lifestyle and ruining any hope they had of just having a “normal” career. I absolutely love working with instructors to develop their skills, help them achieve their goals, and I strive to be the resource I always wanted as a young instructor constantly hungry for more.
Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, I got my start as a skier at 18 months old thanks to my ski instructor father, Kevin, who worked for over 20 years at Seven Springs. Later, I got my own start instructing at the neighboring Hidden Valley Resort where I quickly discovered my passion for this industry. During my time there, I wore about every hat possible working as an instructor, children’s program manager, trainer, magic carpet lifty, rental shop tech, and even helped chop vegetables in the kitchen at one point when they were desperate.
Currently, I work as an instructor and trainer for Okemo Mountain Resort. Much of my trainer work involves working with new hires and running weekly training for newer instructors who are looking to continue to develop. This position gives me a unique perspective as I get to continue working with not only my own new hire trainees, but other trainer’s new hire trainees throughout the season. It provides me with an immense amount of feedback on my own training style as well as many other trainers style, providing insight into what “sticks”, what they struggle with, and what sets them up for long-term success.
The resources I’ve developed on this website have come from many years of working with our staff and refining my approach based on the extensive amount of feedback I have received over those years. My goal is to develop simple, easily digestable resources that don’t overwhelm our new instructors who are already getting overloaded with random information as new employees.
